6 best Gumroad alternatives for Indian creators

Gumroad charges no subscription and takes 10% + $0.50 of every sale from your own link, or 30% through its marketplace. For Indian creators the currency is the second problem. Alternatives include SuperProfile, Instamojo, TagMango, Teachable and Graphy; Pullsy Store gives files away free but does not sell them yet.

Gumroad's deal is honest and it is expensive. Nothing to pay until something sells, and then a tenth of it, plus fifty cents, forever. On a ₹199 product that fifty cents is another ₹48 — about a quarter of the sale gone before the ten per cent is counted.

For an Indian creator there is a second cost that never appears on an invoice. Your buyers see dollars, pay by card, and miss the payment method most of them would have reached for. UPI is how small purchases happen in India, and a checkout without it asks those buyers for their second choice.

Free downloads for an Indian audience

What moving actually involves 📦

Download every file and every version. Gumroad hosts what you uploaded; nothing says it always will.
Export your customer list with purchase dates. Past buyers are the cheapest audience for the next thing.
Decide about the marketplace. Sales Gumroad discovered for you stop when you leave, and they are not always negligible.
Price in rupees deliberately rather than converting. ₹499 is a price; ₹512 is a conversion, and it reads like one.
Keep the Gumroad product page live with a link out for a couple of months. Old links are in old newsletters.
