Pullsy Store vs Instamojo
Instamojo is a payment product with a store attached: its online-store plans charge 5% + ₹3 per transaction free, or 2% + ₹3 on the ₹14,999-a-year Growth plan. Pullsy Store charges ₹799 a month and takes no share of a sale, settling to your own merchant account.

Almost every Indian creator who sells anything has passed through Instamojo. It is where the first payment link comes from, and its checkout is one of the few an Indian buyer recognises on sight.
It is also a payments company, and it prices like one. Its store plans charge 5% + ₹3 a transaction on the free and Starter tiers, falling to 2% + ₹3 on Growth at ₹14,999 a year. Those are gateway economics, not platform commission — which makes them more defensible than a 10% cut and still more than you need to pay.
The real difference is not the percentage. It is that Instamojo is the merchant and you are its customer. On Pullsy Store you hold the merchant account, the gateway settles to your bank, and the rate you pay is the rate you negotiated.
What Instamojo charges 🧾
| Instamojo plan | What it costs | What it takes of a sale |
|---|---|---|
| Online store — Lite | ₹0/year | 5% + ₹3 |
| Online store — Starter | ₹6,999/year | 5% + ₹3 |
| Online store — Growth | ₹14,999/year | 2% + ₹3 |
| Payment links — Quick | ₹0/year | 2% + ₹3 |
| Payment links — Smart | ₹4,999/year | 2% + ₹3 |
What Pullsy Store charges 🏪
₹799 a month, and 0% of every sale. There is no second plan, no volume tier and no rate that improves if you negotiate — there is nothing to negotiate about. Payments settle through a merchant account in your own name, so the gateway's charge is yours and ours is ₹799.
The difference, on real numbers 🧮
| You sold, in a month | Instamojo takes | Pullsy Store takes | You keep |
|---|---|---|---|
| ₹25,000 | ₹500 (Payment links — Quick) | ₹799 | −₹299 |
| ₹50,000 | ₹1,000 (Payment links — Quick) | ₹799 | +₹201 |
| ₹1,00,000 | ₹2,000 (Payment links — Quick) | ₹799 | +₹1,201 |
| ₹3,00,000 | ₹6,000 (Payment links — Quick) | ₹799 | +₹5,201 |
| ₹10,00,000 | ₹20,000 (Payment links — Quick) | ₹799 | +₹19,201 |
Instamojo is the cheaper of the two until you sell about ₹40,000 in a month. Past that it never is again, and the gap grows with every sale you make.
Where Instamojo is the better choice 🤝
- Been around long enough that Indian buyers recognise the checkout, which matters for conversion.
- Payment links work with no store at all — the lowest-friction way to take one payment.
- Shipping, inventory and physical goods are supported, which a digital-only storefront will not do.
If you sell physical goods, Instamojo wins outright — shipping, inventory and logistics are in the product and are not in this one. And if you sell twice a year, a free payment link beats any subscription; ₹799 a month is a bad trade against two transactions.
The difference that is not a percentage
Most platforms in this market are the merchant. The buyer pays them, their provider settles to their account, and you are paid afterwards on a schedule they publish.
On Pullsy Store you are the merchant. A five-minute verification — PAN, Aadhaar, a bank account in your own name — leaves you holding your own merchant account, and the payment gateway settles to your bank directly, on its own cycle. We never hold the money, which means we could not delay it if we wanted to.
Worth asking before you move 🤔
What does Instamojo charge for an online store?
5% + ₹3 per transaction on the free Lite and ₹6,999-a-year Starter plans, and 2% + ₹3 on Growth at ₹14,999 a year. Its separate payment-link plans charge 2% + ₹3. All prices exclude GST.
Is 2% + ₹3 a good rate?
For a gateway, it is ordinary — it is roughly what Indian gateways publish. The question is what you get on top of it. Instamojo bundles a store; Pullsy Store separates the two so the gateway rate is yours to negotiate and ours to stay out of.
Can I keep using Instamojo for physical products?
Yes, and plenty of people should. Nothing stops you selling courses and downloads on one and shipping goods on the other — they are separate checkouts, and your audience will not notice or care.
